Since opening in May 2016, we have supported more than several hundred clients and immediate family members referred from law enforcement, other service providers, and the National Human Trafficking Hotline.

Of the human trafficking survivors supported by the SAFE Center, 90% are female and 10% are male.

55% of our clients have experienced sex trafficking

29% experienced labor trafficking

8% sex and labor trafficking, 8% have demonstrated high risk indicators of trafficking.

The SAFE Center team has delivered over 200 presentations and trainings to increase awareness of human trafficking throughout Maryland and the metropolitan Washington D.C. area, reaching more than 5,800 people. Our staff members regularly deliver trainings and panel presentations on sex trafficking, labor trafficking, trauma, and mental health therapy techniques to raise awareness about trafficking among social workers, lawyers, medical professionals, faith communities, school counselors, foreign embassy officials, university students, and community members.
